Is this your first time on a quad and would you like to know what a tour looks like? You ride with a guide, after a short briefing and with no previous experience required. Prices start at 250 zł per hour.
At Zakopane Quady, we have been organising quad, buggy and snowmobile adventures from our base on Gubałówka for more than a decade. This guide is for you if you are considering a quad ride in Zakopane but still have questions: will I manage the trails, do I need a driving licence, can I bring a child, where do we actually ride, and is a professional guide with us?
Can I manage a quad without previous experience?
Yes. Many people who choose quad tours in Zakopane have never driven a quad or buggy (ATV) before, but still want to add a dose of adrenaline to their mountain holiday.
Before you set off, you receive a short briefing on starting, braking, turning and handling uneven ground. It only takes a few minutes to learn everything you need to get going; after that, riding becomes intuitive, especially on the scenic routes we have prepared for Zakopane Quady tours.
The whole group follows the guide along designated routes at a safe pace. You do not race or have to find your own way. The guide sets the rhythm, watches over safety and steps in if anything goes wrong.
If two people share one quad, you can swap seats during breaks — the driver and passenger usually change roles every 20–30 minutes. This way everyone gets to drive and everyone has time to simply take in the views.
“The sentence we hear most often after people get off the quad is that it was easier than they expected. And that is exactly what we aim for.”
Driving licences and Zakopane Quady — what you need to know
To drive a quad, you need a driving licence — after all, it is a motor vehicle like any other. The person sitting beside you on the same quad does not need a licence, but then they travel only as a passenger and cannot drive.
For example, if only one person in a pair has a driving licence, that person takes the wheel while the other remains a passenger for the whole tour. You can still enjoy the trip together — what matters is who is driving.
A quad tour with children — is it safe?
At Zakopane Quady, younger visitors can enjoy mountain attractions too. For safety reasons, a child may ride as a passenger beside an adult driver on a quad from the age of seven. This is the most common way for children to experience their first quad adventure: a parent drives while the child sits safely beside them under the guide’s supervision.
And if your child is not yet seven? A buggy is a good alternative: children can ride as passengers from the age of one, so the whole family can join the adventure.
Zakopane Quady: where do we ride and what are the trails like?
We ride around Zakopane, Kościelisko and Witów — along mountain routes, forest tracks and meadows with panoramic views. Our quad tours in Zakopane stay away from crowded roads. Instead, expect mud, climbs, forest trails and scenic meadow stops. These picturesque routes are what make the biggest impression.

Quads with a guide or without one?
On a quad tour in Zakopane, you always ride with a guide — and that is an advantage, not a limitation. The group leader knows the routes by heart, takes you to the most interesting places and avoids sections that could be risky for a beginner. Professional guides keep the group moving at a comfortable pace, look after safety and often take souvenir photos along the way.
You do not have to worry about navigation, breakdowns or getting stuck somewhere. You can focus on riding, the views and having fun. There is adrenaline, but it is controlled. This is not a race or an extreme ride without rules; it is a carefully measured dose of excitement that is safe and respectful of the Podhale landscape.

Quads, buggies and snowmobiles — plus group trips
Quads are not all we offer. As a rental company, we also organise snowmobile tours, so you can match the activity to the season and your group. Our Zakopane tours run throughout the season.
Quads and buggies are the favourites in summer and autumn. A buggy in Zakopane is a great choice when two people want to ride together in a 4x4 cabin. In winter, we organise snowmobile adventures across the same mountain terrain. Snowmobiles take you through the snowy, scenic landscapes of Podhale.
